Who We Are
Tralee Youthreach Leaving Cert Applied was established in 1998 to provide a progression route for early school leavers in the Tralee area who had already completed foundation training/education.
What We Do
It is a two-year, fulltime Youthreach programme for 16-20 year olds and is based in the KDYS Youth Centre in Tralee. All students follow the Leaving Cert Applied curriculum, which involves continuous assessment, and there is a strong emphasis on extra-curricular activities. Work experience and Vocational Preparation and Guidance are an important part of the programme. In close co-operation with the Mentor Project young people on the programme are supported to identify and follow their chosen progression route. There are 25 places altogether on the programme. Recruitment takes place in July and 12 – 14 places are offered each September. Application Forms and further information are available in the Centre. Completed Forms should be returned to the address below before the end of June.
