Youth Leadership      

Young people enjoy themselves taking part in a range of activities, while learning and developing themselves in the process. It is a form of non-formal education that is attractive and developmental for young people. Specific KDYS Programmes include:

YOUTH FORUM
Tony O’Connor KDYS Youth Rep ’08 …. “It allows you to express the views of young people on issues that are important to teenagers and society. It allows you to make a real difference and also lets you meet other people who have similar interests.”  

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME
This course is aimed at young people involved in youth or community projects who wish to develop knowledge and skills to work effectively for themselves and their community.  

YOUTH PARTICIPATION TRAINING
This course is aimed at young people involved in a leadership capacity in youth or community projects and aims to raise their awareness of their responsibility in the process of sharing decisions that affect ones life and the life of ones community.  

YOUTH MENTOR TRAINING
This training is aimed at young people who actively take up the role of providing mentoring support to other young people.
